Need help choosing paint colors
We are gutting a ranch. I need colors for my living room/dining room combo and for our den that is right off the dining room portion. My kitchen will be green and the furniture in the den and lr and dr will be dark woods and leathers. Any suggestions? I'm lost.

Are you a neutral person or a real color person?

I'm a real color, my dh likes neutrals. I'm stumped. I keep looking on Pinterest but not getting anywhere.

Re: Need help choosing paint colors
Houzz.com is an awesome website for inspiration
What if you stuck with muted colors like army green, oatmeal, yellow? Then you can use accent pieces like accessories, pillows, carpets, etc... to add punches of true color.
ETA- we have a ranch as well and I'll tell you our colors. Our kitchen has medium dark wood cabinets, brown/cream toned granite counter tops. The walls are a soft yellow, but we use deep royal blue as our accent color. The kitchen opens into our dining room with espresso colored furniture. Our walls are a bright Kelly green. My DH was nervous, as the color was completely my choice, but 8 years later and we still love it. Dining room is open to the living room, which is painted army green, but it isn't too dark. We have brown/reddish leather couches.

I'm liking the soft yellow for the den and the oatmeal for the lr/dr. I now have a bunch of swatches taped to the walls trying to see the big picture. Will definitely check out that website. Thanks.

go to home depot...they have small sample size paints you can buy for $3.24 each. totally with it IMO bc you can paint a few sections of the walls and get a real sense of color instead of trying to look at the small paper swatch. plus you can see what it will look like in different lighting (morning, night etc)

Re: Need help choosing paint colors
Color is a very personal thing. I can email you some pictures of and nice off white with white trim that I did, also a beautiful green (Benjamin Moore HC-118 Sherwood Green) that we love and a beautiful yellow (BM Suntan Yellow, 2155-50. I don't know how to email through this site, if you have some where I can email pictures let me know, thanks.
