Need help finding a dress for a wedding in China
I am attending a wedding in China in about 2 months from now for my BIL's marriage. FSIL wants me to wear something more traditional for China. I have already tried on the standard fancy changsam's (the dresses with the slits on the side and the high mandarin collars) and I look HORRIBLE in that style. I need help finding a dress that doesn't have a high neckline but is in a "chinese" print. It can even be a more western style dress as long as it has some traditional "flair" to it. I also don't want to spent a lot -- it is honestly a dress I will probably only wear once, and we are already spending a lot on airfare and hotel rooms.
My final idea was to buy a bridesmaid type of dress from David's Bridal or another store like that, buy some nice "chinese" print fabric and have a tailor make a fancy sash and make a trim in the fabric or something.
ETA - Just because it isn't tough enough, I cannot wear red (the bride's color), black or white.

What about a dress in a plain color and getting a wrap that is more Chinese inspired? Alternatively, I would go to Flushing, Queens and look for shops there as there that sell traditional Chinese wedding attire.
FWIW - I wore this dress in wine and it was exceptionally flattering. I would wear it again.

I would go to a tailor and have it made. I am sure there are cheap tailors in Queens that can use a "traditional" chinese print and make it into a dress style you want.
