Need help finding a good pediatric office
I live in Smithtown; I am currently going to Smithtown pediatric. My son is only two 1/2 weeks old and we went to the practice three times. We saw Dr. Ingeles the first time, we did not care for her at all. Dr. Martinez came highly recommended and we saw him the next time and we were very happy with him.
Then we saw Dr. Wecker. She was very nice also. So the babies Dr. will be Dr. Martinez, but if I can not get him, then I would have to get who is available, but I will try my hardest not to get Ingeles.
As for the office staff: I am not too thrilled with them either. No one says hello when you walk in. I worked for a medical office for 10 years of my life and we were always taught to greet the people and make them feel comfortable. It just seems like the staff are not happy to be there at all. I know it is a job but you need to be pleasant.
If anyone goes to this office I would love to hear your thoughts. Also if there is another office that is in the Smithtown area that anyone is happy with, I would love to hear where it is, and what they think of the office and the Dr. (s). Thanks for the help.

I go to Mid Suffolk Peds and am very happy there. They always try to give you same the ped. Here is their website

Dr schwartz. He's on 25a by mario's resturant and I LOVE them!

I use Smithtown Ped....I see Dr Wecker for my dd....she is great..always listens and reassures any concerns that I have. The office staff is not friendly at all...When im finished with my dd visit I usually make nother appt, but they are so busy talking that im standing there for like 10 mins before someone helps me..Overall the DRs are good..but staff needs to go.

If you do switch pedi's, I'd tell the Dr you like the reason why was b/c of the office staff. They should get their act together.

We use Dr. Susulski at SmithHaven Pediatrics. 361-2121 , across the street from St. Patricks' Church. Love them!

We use Dr. Bennitt,Dr. Rubin(Bennitts wife), Dr. Bowers, and now Dr. Waterman in StonyBrook. They are located in the building right behind the Friendly's on 347. LowesMovies and Mega Marshalls across the street.
They are great. My SIL uses them too but we had to fire another Peditrian when my son was born. Bennit was so ggo that when we were in the hospital with him at a week old he had us come right to his office as soon as we were discharged. They are also very honest. When they are not sure about something they tell you and have you go see a specailist. They would rather be safe than sorry. (We needed a GI spealist for my son.) I have no reservations recommending them. There # is 689-6226

IMO the best peds in your area are Dr. Susulski and Bennit and Rubin. Susulski is in smithtown and bennit and rubin are in stonybrook. I use Dr. Carlos Rivera who is my absolute fav but he is in patchogue so that might be too far. i work in pediatrics and have also heard good things about Dr. Downs but i don't know the group personally!

We use Smithtown Pediatrics and love them. They are always so helpful and get back to us right away. We only use Dr. Martinez. If it's an emergency, we will see Dr. Baram, who is also very good. I have heard nothing but terrible things about Dr. Inkeles, but I will just not see her then. IMO, Dr. Martinez is so awesome, that it's worth it to stay.
