Need help for stray cats
One of my neighbors is feeding stray cats and lately they have been making my frontyard and backyard their home. It seems like there are more and more around lately. I'm sure my neighbor has the best intentions however they are having kittens now. Its becoming a nuisance for many of us in the neighborhood because while no one wants anything bad to happen to these cats....they are urinating and deficating EVERYWHERE. Even walking across the grass from my car to the house I have to watch where I step Does anyone know of a no kill shelter that I can call that will be able to "capture" (for lack of a better word) them and find them a good home? People have tried talking to this neighbor but she doesn't listen. She has since covered her fence so no one can see all the strays that live in her yard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need help for stray cats
she is being irresponsible. all stray cats should be trapped and then fixed and re released or adopted.I would see if you have anyone near your area that provides that service and call them up and inform them of your situation. I am not too sure how to safely get the cats out of your yard. some people say moth balls but I have heard that could poison the cats.

Re: Need help for stray cats
Certain town shelters have TNR (Trap, Nueter, Return) programs. Give your town shelter a call. If they do not, calling private shelters, may help by giving you the number of a TNR group that can help you.

Check out: http://www.animalallianceli.org/
They have a list of trappers or can look for some resources so you can do it yourself. (We did TNR for 4 cats a few years ago and were able to borrow the traps and get low cost neutering certificates.)

Re: Need help for stray cats
What area are you in? I am currently working with a TNR group , which i my way, I ended up with 4 more cats I DONT NEED> lol. It is just not safe to release them from where I got them from. 3 out of the 4 are adoptable. 4th one will become an outside cat once the weather is warmer
