Need help from those that know about spotting!! (My neice-to-be)
I'm desperate for advice!!! My neice to be is out shopping for her wedding gown and is about 9 weeks along. She just said she's spotting red and cramping. (She lives in Florida, so it's hard to be there.) I told her, calmly, that she needs to get off of her feet. My sister is with her and I don't think she grasps the potential problem here.
Did I give the right advice? Should I be more stern? Should I tell her to call the doctor? (DH thinks I should)

Tell her to go lay down and call the doctor! It could be nothing- but it could be something!

I was told that if I felt any cramping and red spotting, then I needed to call the dr. right away.

Yeah, have her rest and call the Dr. I had spotting from week 4-8 but it was all brown spotting and not too much.

I had a little bleeding at 9 weeks as well and when I called the Dr I was told it was completely normal for some women to have bleeding btwn 8 &9 weeks and just to take it easy. It lasted about a week and got less and less each day.

Having just gone through this, I definitely think she should call the doctor. Especially if it's bright red with cramping. Hope she is okay.

I did call her before I went to work to tell her to get off of her feet and call the doctor just to be sure. I haven't been called back, so I'm hoping that's a good thing. Thank you so much ladies for your advice.
