Need help from veteran e-bay sellers
My DH has this tool box (he is a mechanic) that is a limited edition Dale Earhardt (#3 ) snap on box.
It is friggin huge, and it is worth at least $15,000.
He was going to sell it back to the snap-on guy, but then he has to pay him a 10% commission for the sale & then DH would have to pay to have it moved from his shop to the guys truck.
OK FF to e-bay. DH decided he'd try to sell it there, but I need help. (Because of course DH wants me to list it & do all th follow-up work).
Here aer some of my concerns: 1- it cannot be shipped by traditional means. The empty box weighs almost 1 ton. It would have to be flat-bed towed/shipped to whomoever buys it.
2- it is tremendous (6' deep x 7' wide x 7' tall) so I think it limits to car enthusiasts & not just NASCAR fans - so how do I list it so that the right people will look at it?
3- buyer pays shipping.....since the item is so big & hard to move, should we offer insurance or include it? Do they pay for insurance if they pay for shipping?
HELP!

Re: Need help from veteran e-bay sellers
I only know that I have seen listings that say "for local shipping only" or shipping only available in Suffolk" or "customer responsible for pick up" so those are all options. Good Luck!

Re: Need help from veteran e-bay sellers
you can also do local pick up only. My SIL does that with alot of the large Little Tykes things she sells or for a small fee, she'll deliver it locally to the buyer.
