Need help--How long does it take for prednisone to get out of your body?

If anyone can find this online or know from personal experience, or if you are a nurse, etc....

My mom has been on it for some problems she has been having, and its skewing all her blood test results.

She asked her pcp, who said he did not know...(a whole 'nother subject--we think he is USELESS)


Anyways, does anyone know? Or if you can find info online, direct me?

Dh has been on it for quite a while, and all I know is that you must be weened off gradually. At his appointment every month, his dr. told him to take 5 mgs less than the previous month. At his hightest point, he was taking 60mgs, so it took him a long time.

My husband is a pharmacist and said that it depends on how long she has been on it and it isn't the type of drug that you can just stop because you can screw up your adrenal glands. He suggested speaking to your mom's pharmacist as he/she knows how long she has been on it and what strength etc.

Thank You! I will tell her to ask her pharmacist. THe thing is, she was on the pill pack for a few cycles, and then on 2 pills a day----she has gradually been weaning off...her doctor told her that too...from 2 pills to 1 an d a half, then to 1, then to 1/2, and she just finished that "cycle"



We are just praying that SOME test shows SOMETHING. Everything is showing nothing---and before it was her knees that wer swollen, now its traveling down her legs...

this just SUCKS

She has been going to doctor after doctor after doctor.
