need help- to the girls who the breast pump was covered-

Where did you pick up the pump? I know it has to be an authorized place

I just got my doctor to give me a prescroption for the pump(my baby is in NICU for 7 days and that was one of the rare reasons insurance would cover it)... Empire BCBS is closed for the weekend so i dont know where i can use the prescription(i know you said the medela PIS was an option for it)... the hospital gave me a manual medela single to hold me over til Monday but im going nuts and not getting as much milk that way. At least I can use their hospital pump when visit him but i need the pump bad for the feedings im not there...

I have empire BCBS and i know it has to be at a durable medical suply place. I would call around to a few in your area and see what they say. Most places can tell you when you go to pick it up if it's covered. I was also able to call up my pharmacy who does do durable medical equipment, but not covered by BCBS and they recommended 2 local places and luckily one of them covers mine for me.
