Need help with Permanent Certf. application!

I fall under the old certification rules for Provisional ---> Permanent certification

I have looked ALL OVER the nysed website trying to find step by step how do I apply for my certification.

I completed my Master's but my college does not reccomend me for certification because they do not support the program/degree I recieved SO I need to apply via the Indivial pathway

Anyone have any information on this application process- I'm getting stomachaches from this! Chat Icon

Have you created an account on TEACH yet? If not, here is the link. Create an account, and you can do everything online.

yeah you have to go through the TEACH section and apply through there i just did it at the ned of AUgust.

You will also need a letter from your employers stating how long you have worked. you need a total of 3 years (can be from more that one place)

i applied in June via TEACH and just received it last week. they already had all my info. (transcripts, coursework, SAVE, etc. from a prior certification) and my district reports to Albany who works each year, so it wasn't like they were waiting on info. from me and it still took them 3 months.

if you've worked for a PUBLIC school district full-time each year, that information gets reported to Albany each year by the district. I never had to get letters from my district as my service was automatically reported...

however, if you've done short-term leaves, subbing in different places, etc. you need the letters as proof.

Mine took about 5 or 6 months because i had some issues. I thought it came to me fast considering the amount of time it took for me to smooth things out.
