Need help with shopping carts and infant carrier

I never feel like it's snapped in right. I put it on top of the seat for the shopping cart and when it snaps it looks like dd is reclined to far back. If the infant carrier is upright, it's not snapped in and I'm afraid it'll fall off the cart. I know this is dangerous! I feel like people look at me in the store like I'm nuts. What is it supposed to look like? TIA!

It's Graco. I'm not sure if it's the safe seat. So what did you do for shopping carts?

If I have to do big shopping I dont bring the baby with me or I wait until my daughters get home from school..they then push DS in the snap & go while I push the cart. Im fortunate b/c DH gets home from work at 4pm so I have plenty of time to go shopping...the whole car seat shopping cart thing really annoyed me...I do a lot of my food shopping at Shoprite and their carts are realy small the carseat doesnt even fit in the big part of the cart!!!!

I don't snap it in either b/c like you said, she's too reclined...
I have the front part resting on the handle and although it's not snapped in, it has been fine for me and I always keep my hand on it while I am moving...

Re: Need help with shopping carts and infant carrier

I think I would sacrifice the bottom part of the cart and put the infant seat in there... If it doesn't obviously snap in to the seat, I bet it isn't really secure.

I frequently use the child seat portion of the cart for stuff anyway.... it's just a shame there isn't a more efficient means of attaching the infant seat Chat Icon

I used to just put the whole thing in the actual cart. Some stores it snapped in, some didn't. Target never seemed to work right for me.

I am so glad you posted this! I thought it was just me who couldn't get it to sit right. One day DH and I were walking around Costco looking at everyone who had their carriers hooked to see what we were doing wrong but no one had the same seat as us (we have the Graco Snugride).

I have the Chicco, and it also does not fit. I put him in the whole cart, which means I can't buy much! I think when it's a little warmer, I'll bring the Baby Bjorn and carry him in that.

I lugged around 2 carts, one with him in it, the other with the food.

Re: Need help with shopping carts and infant carrier

We had the Graco Snugride & it never fit...we usually put her in the big part of the cart & if DH was w/ me, we took 2 carts around. Some stores carts were bigger & she was able to be in their better, so then I held her as I wheeled her around

Re: Need help with shopping carts and infant carrier

I have the snugride and the only carts it seem to snap into and look right are the ones at target and babies r us. Everywhere else it just looks like it is going to fall over....especially at waldbaums.

Re: Need help with shopping carts and infant carrier

I always put ours in the actual basket of the cart. A walmart associate told us (first time we went when DS was tiny) that some seats can fall right off. Scared us for life.
it makes life a bit harder, but I know he's safer. And if DH is with me, he gets a second shopping cart.
