Need help writing a letter to break my apt lease.
I have to have a written letter to break the lease for my apt (we are buying a house).
This may be a silly question, but what do I write?  
I don't know where to start.
Any suggestions?

Is there something in the lease about terminating it early?
I would start with something like:
Dear LandLord,
We would like to terminate our lease effective date xx/xx/2008.
We will do our best to accomodate you and potential renters by allowing access to this apartment during the hours of _________.
I would mention something about the security deposit.

I would call to make sure about any charges...I know that if we were to cancel ours, we owe every month's rent until the end of our lease, + our security...crazy!

DH already called and spoke to them about it. They said that we had to fax over a written request.

I would make it seem like they are HELPING you if they let you out of the lease

I guess it does mean good things. But it's not so good that we are losing our deposit and TWO months rent!  
It's not like I'm going to have a mortgage to pay or anything.
