Need help..having 2nd thoughts about our girl name

So since we found out it was a girl at 24wks on accident we have been calling her Emmy Sue. Her full name would be Emily Sue-Lori. I love Emmy, Sue is after my grandmother and Joe's mom and Lorin is after my mom Lori. Nobody but my docs, you guys, Joe, myself and my mom know it's a girl. The issue is now I like another name......My middle name is Alyce after my great grandmother Alyce and now I want to name her Alyson Sue-Lorin and call her Ally. This is a HUGE thing for my mom and she started crying when I suggested keeping the name alive. My mom calls me Ally-Mally so it's also a wink and a nudge to me as well. If you had a name and then changed it did it ever not feel weird calling them by the new name? Should I just leave it? Oh the time I have on my hands now is killing meChat Icon

That is tough what is DH's opinion on the new name? I say if you guys really like the new name, then you should go with that. I really like all the family history with it, makes it very special. I don't think you will feel weird if you start calling Chat Icon by the new name. We call the baby little baby Hank now, once we find out Chat Icon or Chat Icon we will still call the baby that. We are going to use the official name until the baby is here.

Joe is very fond of Emmy Sue, but also likes Ally. He said it doesn't matter to him since if and when we have a boy he has the name already picked out and it's been decidedChat Icon It's just weird trying to get used to calling Peanut by another name.

Yeah I get that is seems a bit strange to you to start calling the baby something different than you have been. Since your DH seems to have picked the Chat Icon name for sure, I say go with Ally. It seems like you love the name. You won't feel weird about it being a different name after a bit. I say go for it b/c it seems like what you want. Chat Icon

I always love tradition, but this is a tough one because both are cute-when I hear Ally I think of The Notebook, and I love that. Emmy is cute too! I am of no help!
