Need ideas ASAP for my Mom's 70th Birthday- girls day out- for Sunday, July5th
There will be 10-15 women ages 30-75. Live on Long Island, so local, Queens, NYC is good.
70 sounds old, but she's more like 30 - fun, energetic, great sense of humor, open for adventure.
Things she doesn't like:
Brunch
Wineries
Massage/facial
Karaoke
Sports
Surprise parties
Paint night/pottery/glasses
Cooking class
Ballet
BTDT:
Tony and Tina Wedding
Broadway Shows
High line
Bus tours
Boat rides/tours
Drag shows
Wax museum
Jazz club
Atlantic city/Mohegan/Foxwoods
My plan was Escape The Room, LES
And then Sammy's Roumanian for dinner. Ton of people said food is meh.
Any ideas???? Help!

Is she a drinker? What about a rooftop bar in NYC?
A day at the MOMA if she likes museums or something at Lincoln Center ......?
Then go local for drinks and dinner?

I really like the escape the room idea! No idea about restaurants in the area though. Another idea is a scavenger hunt! They have different themes- some are at museums, parks, a variety chocolate/dessert shops, etc.

We did the Central Park Scavenger Hunt and it was a BLAST! Since it's so hot now, I would do one of the indoor ones-- they have grand central and the Museum of Natural History.

Escape room sounds fun.
Sammy's is overpriced for what you get. Unless you really really love latkes and chopped liver, not worth it.

I know you said she doesn't like Brunch but I'm wondering if you'd consider this the same thing... I have taken my mom and sisters to all have High Tea at the Plaza and it's SO much fun.

sammys roumanian is the shiiiiiiiiiiit.!! i love that place!!!!!! the food isnt BAD.. huge portions and what I had was fine. i think a veal schnitzel?
