Need ideas for a quick and close get away..
This board gets much more traffic than Travel, so I hope that someone can help me out.
I am 31 weeks pg and dh and I want (need) a weekend away before the baby comes.
It won't be until January, so I'll be even further along, and I don't want to go further than 3 hrs away.
Can anyone suggest somewhere where we can just escape for a weekend? I don't want to fly (they won't let me at that time anyway), and I don't want to go into the city (DH works in the city and wants to get away from that).

Mystic, CT or some other area in CT. There are bunch of charming B&B's all over the state.
I'm not sure where you live, but Sturbridge, MA may be within 3 hours of you.

Berkshires, MA-Canyon Ranch (I'm a sucker for a spa getaway)
Cape May or Spring Lake NJ (great deal for winter travel)
If you want to stay real close there is always the Inn at Eastwind.

dh and i have stayed HERE a few times. its down near AC... they have a great hotel there with two restaurants right there. there not a TON to do right there, but AC is about a half hour away, so you could always hit that up if you're up for a ride...
