Need ideas on how to make money w/ my currnet health conditions
As you all know, I am sick AND I have been laid off.   The parts I don't share often is our current money woes. My current health presciption plan says that I have ot pay 20% of prescriptions with no cap and no deductable to be met. I have one presciption, Zofran that is almost $200 for twenty pills. Considering I have to take one every 8 hours thats is $200 a week! Thats just ONE prescription for me! Joseph has a prescpition that is $172 every other week. Last week while we were getting Sir Ernesto here, our roof started leaking and I know if we get one more hurricane like storm then our roof is going to completly give and we are starting to deplete all the savings that we had.
I need legit ways to make money in some sort of industry with no set hours.
Legit ideas anyone?

My aunt used to work for an attorney - just some secreterial work...when she had her 3 children, she had a really hard time leaving them and working again, so she made some phone calls and found a CPA that needed some mass mailings stuffed, etc. She had to pick them up, then sort, stuff, and seal. He paid her a quarter a set - she used to take home about $200 a week!!!
When my Mom's friend was sick with cancer a couple years ago (pancreatic), she used to make appointment reminder calls for a dentist and appointment confirmation calls for a Dr. from her home. It wasn't big money, but it helped.
on the other hand....boobies are still boobies, right Deb? There's always the internet  
OK OK in all seriousness, there's something out there for you sweets

I was an Exec Assist.
I am good with a computer
excel, word, poperpoint, I type about 80 ish words per minute.

Ebay ??? Lots can be made if you find teh right angle....
Also try www.guru.com
Its work at home ( virtual assistant) like jobs. I have gotten a few offers in the past. You can join the free way and get some offers. If you $ the fee you get a LOT.
I got like $200 once for filling out envelopes and once $125 for typing like 100 addresses's into excel.
Theres much more advanced job offerings obviously too.

I have seen ads for people who can do clerical work from home. bookeeping, spreadsheets, billing, etc...
maybe you can contact an employment agency and ask about this?

what about selling on Ebay for other people....take a commission on the listing or charge a flat rate to list it for them...
there are SO many people that just don't want to bother with the effort!
Writing stories and sending them to magazines sometimes will get you some $$.

If you were an exec assistant I would wirte up a cover letter and resume explaining your situation. Be honest. If you can get or have a scanner/fax/printer you basically wouldn't even have to leave your house. Then go on Switchboard.com and find target businesses. I can look on Hoovers for you to find companies in your area just FM me the info. If you want to target lawyers you can look on Martindale.com. FM me if you want me to check ouT Hoovers-if you have a fax I can print you a list and fax it to you.

I agree with the other girls, a couple SAHMs I know do the medical transcription thing, and make decent money. They only hurdle I'm thinking may be there is that I think they had to go to a week long course to learn how, which may not fit in with your schedule.
My company sometimes has people that write up Warranty stuff and canvas rates from home. Let me see if they have anything open now.

DH made quick money one time on ebay. He was going to the dollar store, buying bulk of one item, then selling. He just did not have the time to keep it up though. good luck!

My office has used them when he have needed freelance designers, but they also have data entry projects.
