Need ideas on where to have the baby shower...
Okay, so I am going to start looking at locations in the next couple weeks for the shower. I am at a loss! We livin Ozone Park, but have a lot of family/friends that live in Suffolk & Nassau, so I want something fairly centrally located. I do not want a chinese buffet, as that is the only food that makes me ill. And I am LOVING Italian food.
Now, I am a little "fussy" b/c I would like a nice place, but don't want to break the bank. The other thing is I want somewhere that has a fairly low minimum requirement b/c though the guest list is about 65 (which was about the same for my bridal shower) but only 30 came to my bridal shower. And preferrably in Nassau.
I asked DH if we could have it at a nice place, not quite a reception hall, but not just a casual restaurant.
Please, any suggestions, preferrably w/ websites, so I can do as much online looking before going. Also, pricing would be helpful too!!
Thank you all SOO much, in advance!!!

I had mine at Bella Napoli in Farmindale on Route 109. It was good and very reasonable. Maybe around $20 pp.
They have a website, but i forgot it. Maybe you can google it.

I don't know of any in Nassau but if you don't want to break the bank and want Italian find a place that does Family style. My Best Friend's father just passed and money was tight. they did it at a family style place in Northport. The food was fabulous and you only have to order 2 or 3 dishes for each table. It saved them a bundle!

It looks like mine will be at George Washington Manor in Roslyn. It's, I think, $28 a person.

Re: Need ideas on where to have the baby shower...
I'm having mine (it's not a surprise shower) at Sole in Oceanside, which is Italian and they have great food. It's about $25 per person and we had to guarantee a minimum of 30 people for the separate room.
I also recommend Guy Anthonys in Bellmore (or Merrick), which was my other choice and they are also an Italian restaurant. It's about $25 per person and their food is great. It's a minimum of 30 people to rent out the whole restaurant from 12-4 on a weekend I think.
I have been to George Washington Manor in Roslyn for a wedding shower and they did a great job. I think they have a mix of different foods and I recall the food being very good. It's very pretty there too. And there's all different rooms to accomodate small or large groups.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the places mentioned. And Sole and Guy Anthonys are great deals for the money!
