Need Ideas to Decorate a Bench..

Here is a pic of our bench-- which will stay on this wall- unless we neeed additional seating at the dining table. As we live in an apt-- we need to be creative as to where we get our additional seating from. So- while this is not being used at the table- I want it to look like a piece of accent furniture. I feel like I have seen things in catalogues like a stack of books, etc. sitting on one end-- anyway- just thought I'd post and get some ideas from you guys..

What if you put some potted plants underneath it. Is the bottom open??

Or what about a couple of throw pillows propped up against the wall??

I was also thinking about some decorative pillows on top.

R-
I would have a piece of glass made to rest on the underneath part so it can act as another shelf so you could stack books on it.

Alternatively, I would get a basket to sit underneath it and put things in there.

On top I would get pillows or make one long pillow so it is a comfortable place to sit.

Re: Need Ideas to Decorate a Bench..

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I was thinking about putting something underneath-- whatever I put there-- cannot be too complicated as this is something that would potentially need to be moved a lot-- although- having more than 4 people for dinner I am not sure is going to be happening- but at any rate..

I guess I need to just go out and explore and see what I can find that would work for the space..

Keep the ideas coming!
