Need info on speeding ticket

I was driving out to Asharoken today and was driving about 40mph, the limit is 30 and they ENFORCE IT BIG TIME!! The cop said he clocked me when he was driving on the other side of the road (we passed each other and then he turend around ot pull me over) well, he follows me for about 2 miles and then when we get tot he police station decides topull me over, he was rude, blah, blah, blah, but when I look at my ticket he forgot to write in the speed limit and what my speed limit was clocked at, it just says, "speed zone", do you think he messed up and I'll get away with it?

Yup. I think he messed up !!! I think you'll be ok, just plead not guilty. He had to fill that out completely or else it is null & void.l

ya-hoo!!! Thanks, does that mean I have to appear in court? I think he was so flustered since all 3 of my kids were whining and crying and Ithink he just wanted to get away from the chaos in my car

They have an opportunity to fix it. JT got a ticket in a snowstorm back on 2/21/05 in the middle of the night going to work. He saw flares blocking off an exit and a cop, he was doing like 15mph on the LIE. The cop pulled him over and told him that it was the LIE that was closed, not the exit, and JT said that it was unclear, meanwhile people were still driving up the LIE and he wasn't doing anything about it. Anyway, long story short, the cop not only filled in the wrong date (he put 12/21/05),but the wrong exit on the LIE and the wrong time! They gave the cop a chance to fix it and JT showed up to court. Luckily, the cops story didn't match up, and the judge threw the case out, but just beware that they have the chance to fix it.

Unfortunately, not in Ashroken. They will NEVER let go of a speeding ticket. Just to give you an idea...My brother was stopped for going 33 mph...on a bicycle and they wanted to give him a ticket.

My father worked with a former judge of the town and they will always enforce the speed limit and never let go of the tickets.

how can they say what my fine is if there is no speed posted. Now it is all heresay, I checked with my uncle who is a det. sgt in Suffolk and he said they screwed up and will either throw it out or will charge me for the minimal 1-10mph over the limit, oh well, i am indeed at fault so I will pay

stop it. He was "speeding" on a bicycle? And he got a TICKET? NEVER heard of this! Sounds even crazier than driving in the Hamptons... they're CRAZY out there!
