Need kitchen table ideas
I will go in this space
Color?
I am thinking round/oval
I'd love to see ones you might have seen that would work.
We have a dining room, so this table set will be for everyday eatting, for the family

round would definitely work but i think an oval would look even nicer. buy a round with a leave for both options.

I agree...I would do a small table that has a leaf option....TBH I think any style would work fine....KMart has a 5pc table/4chairs set on sale for $199.00 this week

If it's the round wooden one, I have that and it's great!! It's so sturdy and has held up so nice. Who would've thought!

My parents kitchen is very similar to yours in layout and they have an oval table and it looks really nice so that shoud def. work, too

YES! That is exactly what I had in mind. Where did you find that?
I definitely don't want cushion chairs in the kitchen, not with kid(s)! Those are great!

really? for the brand and quality , i think it is priced well. i don't think it is unreasonable to expect to spend 3k-5k to furnish a kitchen (table, chairs, area rug).
IMO, skimping in some areas (accessories) is fine but i would never do so on furniture.

that was my initial thought...
As for ethan allen - I don't have any pieces myself, but my parent;s furnished their entire downstairs with EA 45 years ago and the pieces are still solid (1-2 dining room chairs have taken a beating though) and they still look good - not outdated KWIM

right- that is what really annoys me- is that you go to a place like ethan allen, or pottery barn and you aren't getting solid wood, a lot of veneer, etc.
If you are going to invest 1k or more in a piece, it should be all solid oak, maple, cherry, etc.

I think this would look great. Something dark would be too heavy. I would keep it light and airy looking.
