Need movers for NY to FLA relocating

Anyone ever move to a different state and use movers to help? We are beginning to price out some moving companies just on some quick google searches. I don't know what I was expecting - but I guess I wasn't expecting in the $6,000 range!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

So far we like PODS bec they can drop off and we can pack it up on our schedule and then they pick up when we are ready and drive it down to FLA - we dont have to do it all in a four hour period

But if you have another company that you knows drives across multiple states - and was a good experience please let me know!

Thanks so much

If you like the PODS type services:

Old Dominion Household services
Broadway Express
ABF Upack
1-800-packrat
Uhaul Ubox

For full service, we used hall-lane when we were on LI they were fantastic. Moovers.com is another one I hear good things on.

We are going the pods style route and hiring loaders/unloaders at each point from http://www.movinghelp.com/

The pod type movers are def more expensive. I'd call a few companies and price it. The can also store many time if you need them too.

Re: Need movers for NY to FLA relocating

We just used Verity Movers from NY to FL. Highly recommend them! We had an excellent experience. We paid $6000 to move about 10,000 pounds. The move cost is based on weight not by the space you use. Verity was efficient and arrived to our old home and new home early in the morning. Our things all arrived in perfect condition. Great with communication even when we needed to reschedule pick up of our items at the last minute. I was dreading the move bc I have heard so many horror stories about movers but we had no issues.

If you need to have your car transported, I can highly recommend JoCar Transporters. Great price and service and honest. Our car was taken and then DH wound up in the hospital for emergency surgery and so wasn't in FL when the car was to be delivered. They held our car for an entire week while DH recovered and didn't charge up anything. Car was then delivered the day DH arrived in FL and it had no damage and no additional miles. They pick up and deliver to your home. We used them for 2 cars.

We have seen the opposite when getting quotes from movers and pod style companies.
