Need Naseau relief
What do you ladies suggest? It just hit yesterday like a ton of bricks. It is constant throughout the day. I actually kept expecting to throw up because I felt so ill, but never did. I could barely function at work, so I took today off. It wakes me up every hour. I tried saltines, they made me feel worse. Help, I am so miserable.

Re: Need Naseau relief
I know it is hard but try to eat every three hours. do not let yourself get hungry. Also make sure that you are keeping hydrated. What works for me is Gum mint flavored gum. it is a life saver....

Re: Need Naseau relief
Thank you so much for the advice. I am willing to try anything. I go to the doctor next week, so if it is still bad I will ask for a perscription.

Re: Need Naseau relief
I had nauseau too. Nothing helped. I wasn't throwing up. When it finally ended I was talking to a nurse at the office and she said I could have used Bonine (over the counter for motion sickness) or Sea Bands (also for motion sickness).
Maybe you can call your OB and ask if you can use them.

Re: Need Naseau relief
I agree... all I wanted to eat for a while was cheese.
Also, I have been living off bagels. They are the only thing appealing to me. Hang in there.. It will get better!

Re: Need Naseau relief
When I was preggo with my son - I had 24 hr nausea that never ended. I think eveyrone is different so you have to figure out what works for you.
I too could never eat saltines. I found pretzels or dry cereal worked better.
Some other things to try.... Have food whereever you go.
Make sure you are drinking enough - for me my water had to be warm not cold.
Try eating many small meals and not 3 large ones. Try to make those meals have form different food groups - combining carbs, proteins and fats.
String cheese and pizza and bagels and fresh fruit helped a little until I gagged on them and had to find new things. My point is eat what appeals and works and don't worry about diet...it will all even out eventually.
Seabands - didn't help me but I know helped some.
Ginger altoids.
Sucking candy esp sour ones.
Good Luck to you and hope it passes quickly.

Great tips! Thank you. I am staying home today from work, but I know I have to face the music and go back to work tomorrow. So I need to figure out how to deal with this. Your suggestions are very helpful. Thank you!

Re: Need Naseau relief
Saltines made it worse for me too. I was like you, nausea and dizziness but no puking.
My savors-with DD it was gatorade, with this pg, Coca Cola. I sipped throughout the day. A 20oz bottle would last me 2-3 days.
Try not to let your tummy go empty or eat big meals, snack all day long on whatever seems appeasing to you.
For the 1st trimester with both pgs, i could only eat, cheese, grilled cheese, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, dry cherrios and fruit.
I couldnt drink water either, it tasted like metal and made me gag.
Hang in there

Re: Need Naseau relief
I had bad nausea but no vomiting (only from gag reflex).
Dr said there was nothing I could do for it but the usual nausea remedies.
I found that for those 5-6 weeks these things worked best - and in combo with each other: Seabands saltines ginger ale ice pops lemon in water (hot lemonade worked too) eat what you can - eat small frequent meals - it helps Cheese - I can still barely eat meat. Cinnanmon altoids
The thought is that protein not carbs helps morning sickness - however - it didn't work for me.

If its REALLY bad, then call your doctor and ask for a prescrition for Zofran.
Your doctor will decide if they want to give you Zofran or anything of the like. I didn't get it til I was dehydrated.
But eating small meals helps. Grilled cheese is good, ginger ale, crackers, pretzels, just plain food. Oh and milkshakes.
Actually, when mine was at its worse, my doctor had me drinking slimfast shakes b/c I could keep them down and they have vitamins in them.
Oh and I loved these candies called Gin Gins.

Re: Need Naseau relief
It helped alot, not letting myself get hungry because when i was, I felt the most nauseous. Also, ginger ale, caffeine-free coke, breads and sometimes sugar (like a hard candy or something).
Hope you feel better!
