Need NJ, MD roadtrip advice
So, DH's 30th is in September. We were originally planning to go to Florida, but since we have a wedding the day after his BD, it's not going to happen. So, I thought we'd take a road trip, maybe going to Atlantic City for a night, the Jersey Shore for a night or 2, and then Ocean City, MD for a night or two before heading to Virginia for the wedding. This will be at the end of September, after Labor Day...anyone have any suggestions on where to stay? Thanks, any ideas at all are appreciated, since I've never been to the shore or Ocean City.

Re: Need NJ, MD roadtrip advice
i grew up in south jersey and went to school right near AC! actually, ocean city NJ is really nice for a night or two. they have a really nice boardwalk, and its a "Dry" town ( no bars/liquor stores) so its pretty quiet and family oreinted- not "white trash" like some other jersey shore towns. LOL DH and i actually got engaged on the beach there, so i'm a little bit biased LBI ( long beach island) is also really nice. but, theres no boardwalk on LBI, if your looking for that kind of stuff. you kind of want to stay away from wildwood, seaside....

Thanks for the info. I did know to stay away from Wildwood, but since this will be a kind of "week-long" celebration of his 30th birthday, and our last vacation before TTC, I doubt he'll want a "dry town!" We're kind of thinking of it as our "last hurrah," ya know? I'm keeping my mind and ears open though...

LOL gotcha! then you might want to look into LBI- thats not dry, and theres some nice bars and restaurants there... or point pleasant is pretty nice too. i've only been there once for a bachelerette party, but it was fun and there were a lot of fun bars, etc there and a boardwalk with rides and stuff- more of a party scene than LBI. point pleasant's a little further north- so you could do point pleasant, then AC then maryland...

Re: Need NJ, MD roadtrip advice
if you are going to be in NJ - you might consider the DE beaches. I think they'd be closer than Ocean City, MD and to be honest, I like them better. I live in the DC area and prefer Rehoboth, Dewey and Bethany to Ocean City. They're are places to party, but I think it's a little quanter (sp?).

This is actually all on the way to a wedding in VA at the end of the week, so the distance to MD isn't an issue. I'll keep it in mind, though. Do you have any specific recommendations?
