Need opinion on Summer Camp--same time as new baby
DD is going to be 3 in the Fall, signed up for school already. DH and I were thinking Summer Camp would be good for her, especially having another baby. We just can't make up our minds. Some ppl say, well, she is going to feel like you are pushing her out, while I just initially thought it would be fun for her.
What are your opinons on this? Is it not smart to start her in school at the same time of a new baby coming?

I think that's a good idea. Your 3 year old will be doing some fun summer activies and meeting little friends while you are bonding with the baby. Since it's only 4 days a week 2-3 hours a day, there will be plenty of time for your kids to bond and for you to still give your 3 year old attention! I say go for it.
when DD # 2 was born (in May) I took DD # 1 to camp daily and it was 3 hours a day. It worked out perfect- but that's me.
do what you feel is best!

Absolutely send her to camp. You will not have the energy to entertain her with a new baby, nor will you want to be bringing the baby out to playgrounds for hours on hot days. Your 3 year old will be much happier at camp.

I would send her. It will give her something fun to do for a few hours.

Re: Need opinion on Summer Camp--same time as new baby
Send her! I am expecting #3 in about 5 weeks and starting in two weeks my kids (3 and 5) are signed up for a lot of stuff to do, so that they will have some fun and not be cooped up in the house.
They are both going to The Little Gym for two weeks worth of camps (M-F, from 1-4pm each day)
Then they are going to some other camp at their preschool M-F from 9-noon
So as of right now, they have a solid three weeks of stuff to do camp wise.
I'm not one to be an overscheduler of kid activities, but it works out great this year since everything they are signed up for is for 3-5 year olds, so they can do everything together and at the exact same times.
