Need opinion on this .. is it really bad excema?
Not the greatest pic, i took with my phone. this is my youngest dds thigh.. this side is worse than the other side, but the otherside has too. Its like a blister.. could excema be that bad?
She does have excema, and was dx with dairy allergy, we switched her to Alimentum 3 weeks ago, and was doing good. But lately seems like all the spots are reappear.. but this on the thigh is the worse I have ever seen. Could they excema stop when starting new formula and then reappear weeks later?
Shes also been very fussy. Image Attachment(s):

I would definately call the ped ! That looks really bad ! It does kind of look like excema but it also might be a reaction to something !

that does look like a bad case of eczema... at one point my DD's skin was oozing Do you have a prescription cream? It should clear it right now. I would ask the ped for a recommendation for a pediatric derm.

Im so sorry for your loss !!
I would get some Aveeno oatmeal bath soap and clean it then put some lotion on it ,and just keep applying lotion so it doesn't get too dried out ! Here is a pic of my DD ,she also had it bad and I had to get prescribed hydrocortizone for it ! Image Attachment(s):

I thought ecxema was supposed to be more like dry patches. I would absolutely take her to the Ped on Monday. I think I would've taken her to the ER, I don't think I woudl've been able to wait until Monday but I'm a paranoid freak when it comes to any little thing.

I would take her to the ped on Monday but, as long as she doesn't have a fever I wouldn't stress b/f that. Rashes come and go - DS is constantly having something or another and most of the time it is gone as quickly as it comes. I personally would not take DS to the ER for a rash unless it was severe (he was blown up or something) or had a fever. Sorry all this is happening!

Re: Need opinion on this .. is it really bad excema?
DS has eczema also (also a dairy allergy) just this past week his cheeks are flared up and look a lot like that. I BF so it is probably from something I ate . Our PED gave us a RX cream for when it gets really bad.
I'd call the PED on Monday and between now and then I 'd do oatmeal baths (warm not hot), eucerin and if it is really irratating her you could put a damp warm washcloth on her thigh. DS gets it bad on his chest sometimes and seems to really like the warm washcloth.

If she has a milk protein allergy, the Alimentum is OK. BUT- if she has a confirmed DAIRY allergy, then the formula is NOT OK and is likely to cause the skin rash. Alimentum has casein in it which is a milk derivitive.
My older DD has a dairy allergy (it goes way beyond a protein sensitivity) and cannot have anything with: lactose, whey, or casein in it.

Re: Need opinion on this .. is it really bad excema?
My DS's eczema looks like this when it gets bad. It gets really red and raw because he scratches it so much. The dermatologist told me to bathe him every day, where the ped said every other day. For us, when the breakouts are bad, every day works better.
I try to put the Rx or creme on him and keep him is long sleeves and long pants if I can. He scratches it less that way and it seems to be able to clear up faster.
