Re: Need Side Dishes for BBQ
There were some awesome recipes in the June issue of Food & Wine.
I don't know if you can see it online.
One was a gazpacho (more like an appy you could serve in a martini glass)
Watermelon and feta
Bowtie pasta with sun dried tomatoes.
We made all of them and they were great.

Tomato Salad
Cut tomatoes into wedges, tear fresh basil to put in the salad. Cut up mozzarella cheese into small cubes, coat with oil and vinegar (you can use the good seasons cruet, but don't add the good seasons mix.
Pasta with Italian seasoning
Roasted corn
Roasted peppers

Re: Need Side Dishes for BBQ
Thai Slaw Salad: 1 (16 ounces) prepared shredded cabbage (coleslaw mix) from produce department 1/4 European seedless cucumber, sliced into thin sticks 1 small red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced 3 scallions, thinly sliced on bias 20 leaves fresh basil, shredded Dressing: 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup white distilled or rice wine vinegar 2 teaspoons sugar or 2 tablespoons honey 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil Garnish: Toasted sesame seeds
Combine vegetables in a bowl. Combine dressing ingredients in a small plastic container and shake vigorously for 1 minute. Drizzle sauce over vegetables and toss to coat evenly. Let stand 10 minutes and re-toss before serving and garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Yield: 5 to 6 servings
When I've been in a rush I've just used the cole slaw mix & left out the rest of the veg & it still comes out really good.

Re: Need Side Dishes for BBQ
Mango and Avocado salad
Greens, your preference 2 avocados (cubed) 2 Mangoes (cubed) 1 cup of Walnuts Bacon (optional) chopped and cooked
Make day of and toss together. Don't use too much salad mix, because you want the others for colour.
I make a dressing that goes with it, but one of the ingredients you can't get in the US.

Re: Need Side Dishes for BBQ
If you can get good, ripe tomatoes - just slice and serve with salt and pepper or add mozz cheese and basil for caprese salad.
Deviled eggs
Veggies and Dip
For dessert: grilled pineapple with vanilla ice cream
