Need Some Good Luck Vibes Please - Nervous about Dr. Appt Today!
Back in the spring, when DS was around 4 months old, his ped diagnosed him with torticollis and flat head. We saw "the" cranio-facial specialist back then who said we needed PT for the tort (which we had just started) and possible helmet if head didn't improve - he told us the changes we needed to make. We really worked hard this summer and when we saw him in August, he was very happy with the head shape - showed a lot of improvement and no helemt needed, but was not happy about the tort.
When we saw him in Sept, head had continued to shape to normal range but he now said that Jordan needed a TOT collar for the tort - pretty much a plastic dog collar type of thing that helps keep his neck straight and helps stretch his neck muscles. I was very very upset about this but it has not been as bad as I had thought.
So, we have the follow-up appt today and I'm just nervous. This guy is a surgeon and he's aggressive - I'm scared he's going to say that Jordan is not doing well with the tort and needs Botox shots in his neck or surgery. I will not do either. His current PT sees marked improvement, I see it, and I even squeezed in a quick visit with his PT from NY when we were there last weekend - she thought he looked amazing.
There are not that many cranio-facial specialists down here but I will find a second opinion if I need to.
I'm just nervous, esp since DH is working and can't come to the appt.
We have worked so hard with Jordan and I just hope this doc sees the improvement! According to our current PT, they often hear very conflicting opinions (to what they think) from this doctor.
If you've read this far, I appreciate it and can just used some good luck vibes!

Oh Miki I am so sorry 
DS has torticollis too so I know how you feel. He has congenital tort though so I think it was easier to fix (we started PT at 5 weeks old). Lots of luck at your appointment today!!! I hope you get some good news...

Thank you so much, ladies. It's also frustrating because you wait almost an hour to see him and the baby is all cranked out and tired from waiting. It's the nature of tort to "show" more when the baby is tired, sick, all kinds of things. So now there's an exhausted baby who FINALLY sees the doctor and he probably looks worse than he typically does!
