Need some ideas (Anniversary Related):
Since Vinny is the type of guy who really doesn't need anything and I have already bought him all the typical "guy gifts" I am trying to think of other unique ideas.
Yesterday was our anniversary and we had a ceremony to go to for the firefighter who saved Kenneth. So, all we did was exchange cards and Vinny got me a beautiful ring. For him, I wanted to take him to dinner.
I need great restaurant recs and maybe some ideas of what to do - something special to either do or give him - while there. I already called a bakery and am having our cake topper re-made to eat b/c I just looked at our actual cake topper and EWWWW lol.
I thought this would be special -- anything else special I can do and a place in the Suffolk or Eastern Nassau area? Someplace we have never been would be nice. This is long!! Sorry!! I just need ANY ideas.

One of my coworkers for her Dh's birthday made him a book of the pics from his party on I believe it was Shutterfly. It looks like a real storybook, and you can add captions, blurbs I believe.
HE loved it!!!
Take different pics of the 2 of you throughout your entire relationship and make it into a book. Then you can give it to him at the restaurant or later on when you get home. Its a sentimental gift that you both will have forever.

For my DH's birthday I made him a scrapbook. For dinner I would recommend the 7 course tasting dinner at Louis XVI-different, fancy and awesome or maybe the wine cellar at Carltun

i love the wine cellar at the carltun @ eisenhower park- its very special feeling.
also the garden city hotel is nice- how about bringing him there and staying over night and having brunch the next day
what about cufflinks from tiffany with his initials
what about tickets to a game or event he would like
i dont know what he is into - let me know more about him and i can probably think of something.

oooooohhhhh we have to go there! LOL!
my husband would really love that -- that is right up his alley. now, i'm confused bc the menu says general dining (dinner) and i think that is what i'm looking at but when i make the reservation i should request the wine cellar room?? b/c it is the most romantic room?
this is perfect b/c i wanted something romantic, special and DIFFERENT!

oh yes - this place is real cool.
the only prob is we were just there a few months ago for my birthday with friends so i wanted to try someplace new and more geared towards what he likes. that place is more me -- and i need something more him.
but great idea - and we have been to and love four for dancing!

fyi bring a pashmina wrap -its cooler down there -and im not sure if its required but i think a jacket is appropraite for guys
eta- f he likes cigars (mine loves them) i think you can have a cigar in the room upstairs- they sell them
or maybe an after dinner drink to keep the night flowing

If you go to the wine cellar I would ask to speak to the sommelier-no offense but I bet they could pick out a great bottle and you can give them a price and the type of wine he likes

they only do dining in that room on friday and saturday nights.
the problem is we are not sure what we are doing on weekends now with kenneth -- we usually visit him on weekends b/c i will be (starting next week) home during the week now that i am going back to work full-time with the summer being over. bahhh it is complicated. so i'm thinking maybe i'll just make it for another room?? are the other rooms nice too?
i wanted it to be more quiet too -- so i figure it would be more private on a weeknight like a wednesday or thursday.
