Need some opinions on this...
Lucas usually sleeps pretty well - and many night he sleeps from 7:30pm - 5:30am...once in a while he'll wake at 2 or 3 for a quick bottle - drains the whole thing in 15 minutes and goes right back to sleep.
The last 2 nights he has gone down at 7:30 but then wakes at 10:30/11. He drinks his bottle and goes back to sleep...but from that point on he is waking every 45 - 60 minutes Sometimes I can rock him right back to sleep and others he take a bottle and goes back to sleep. He never stays awake - goes right back to sleep but then wakes right up shortly after.
What do you think this might be? We have a doctor's appt on Wednesday but I am starting to think that maybe I should go earlier...unless of course this is teething. Then I know we have to just ride it out.
Here are my observations: No fever Happy when he wakes Caught him tugging on his ear once yesterday but that was it Eating a lot! Has white mounds on bottom gums and swollen Drools like a mad-man and munches on everything he gets his hands on.
Just want to hear some opinions.
Thanks!

Re: Need some opinions on this...
We had to deal with something like that with Ethan. The no sleep was a killer for Mommy & Daddy! I'm pretty sure he was going through a growth spurt. Ethan was back to normal in less than a week. I think if Lucas wasn't happy it may be something else, but with eating so much, I would definitely think growth spurt. Hope all is ok and you get sleep soon!

To me it sounds like teething. Especially the swollen gums and the tugging at the ear.

Jack was the same way yesterday. He woke up all night long - and was basically screaming in agony. He's shoving his hands in his mouth really hard - so I think it's teething for him. And, once I give him the tylenol he is usually better.
Do you give him anything for the teething?
Poor little guy!

Either teething or If he is pulling on his ear he could have an ear infection.

Thanks...I hope I can deal with the teething but then my tired brain started thinking what if I am missing something...always so paranoid that I am going to miss something and it will effect him.
I gave tylenol last night twice but it seems to not be helping. I held the motrin in my hand but that 6m - 23m notation kept me from opening it.
I guess we have to tough this out...When DH dropped him off at daycare he told them that Lucas didn't really sleep...then handed him off and ran out saying "good-luck"

Re: Need some opinions on this...
It sounds like it could definitely be teething. I wish I had more advice to give, but Thomas wakes up several times a night on most nights, so I need some advice myself. Usually, I think it's teething (no signs of a tooth yet though). Last night he kept waking and he was screaming and arching his back. He was also passing gas, so I assume he had bad gas pains. It's horrible not knowing how to help them!

I definitely agree with either a growth spurt or teething (or maybe even both).

I agree. 2 weeks ago he had me up like that. Sometimes crying. I would walk him around the house "shhing" and he was right back to sleep. His top tooth broke through about a wk or so after that started.
And now, we're going through a growth spurt and I cannot even keep track of the number of times I woke to nurse him last night. (I know this is a growth spurt because in addition to his nursing all the time, I am starving also.)

Do you think we should expect this every night for about a week until the tooth breaks? I am moving out

I think it lasted for about 4 days.
The bottom teeth were much easier than the top one. There was only one sleepless night like that about a week and a half before each one showed up.

I agree that it sounds like teething. In any case, it doesn't seem like you need to go to the doctor any earlier. Hope all is well and that his (and YOUR) sleep returns to normal!
