Need some shopping help/advice for a little girl
Once upon a time I preferred shopping for little girls and not so much for little boys....well Lucas comes into my life and I have a block when it comes to shopping for little girls.
So can you help me think this out...
DH has a 6 year old goddaughter and her birthday is coming up...right before Christmas. So we bring all the gifts when we go to her birthday party.
Last year she hated every piece of clothing she received and while she really was very polite about it...I knew. She's a kid.
Here's where I need the help...my budget is tight and I want to get her clothing...do I get an outfit or pieces (meaning just shirts)? I was going to check Gap today since I feel like it's neutral with kids...not a hate or a love but an okay. KWIM?
ETA: Also...any ideas on what I can get her. Anyone notice anything that might be good for me to get her?

Darn, you should have gone yesterday for the 30% off sale - I got a lot of stuff for Ryan and my sister SO much cheaper than online.
I find Children's Place has cute stuff for girl's too - like a sweater dress and tights?
I find anything with sparkles goes over well - this is $14.99. What about with tights or leggings?
Sweater dress

I do this ALL the time...Lucas made out on the sale but didn't even think to get goddaughter something there then..only NOW when the sale is over

Call her mother & ask where she shops and what she likes.
As the mother of a VERY picky 5 year old - anything with pants, turtlenecks or boy colors are out.
Another girl I know won't wear anything that is girly. That rules out skirts, anything pink, purple, yellow, sparkles, hearts, etc. The only way my friend was able to get her daughter to wear a dress was because her aunt bought her one that had a pirate on it.
Personally I'm a huge Daffy's fan. Make sure to give a gift receipt & that way they can exchange it.

She's a girly-girl. Totally into High School Musical and according to her mom....Gap is fine...or anything. So I am back to square one...but I will definitely get a gift receipt.
I'm itching to go and see what they have. I never really go to kids...only baby
