Need suggestions for a dessert
I'm invited to a big bash that ALL the neighbors are invited to. I said i would bring a dessert. Should I make something or should i buy something? My least favorite thing to make is dessert, except for Christmas cookies. Any suggestions on what to make or buy? Someone already told me she is making Choc chip cookies. I was thinking of making brownies but i have never made them home made. Any suggestions would be great TIA!

Re: Need suggestions for a dessert
You could just stock up on Entenmann's, but I always try to make something. Brownies are good and easy. Get the red box (I think Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines) It's definitely red. The fudge ones.
You could do dirt cake or banana pudding. Or even Monkey Bread. They are cheap and everyone loves them.

Re: Need suggestions for a dessert
a fruit platter is always good!
the 'dirt' or sand' recipes are easy and really good too!
dirt cake {sand cake if you use vanilla sandwich cookies} 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix 3 1/2 cups milk 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed 32 ounces chocolate sandwich cookies with creme filling
directions Chop cookies very fine in food processor. The white cream will disappear. Mix butter, cream cheese, and sugar in bowl. In a large bowl mix milk, pudding and whipped topping together. Combine pudding mixture and cream mixture together. Layer in flower pot, starting with cookies then cream mixture. Repeat layers. Chill until ready to serve. Add artificial flower and trowel. Enjoy!

If you're not really a baker, save yourself the stress and aggravation and go to the bakery !! - Pastries, cookies, fruit platters .........
