Need sunscreen recommendations for those with sensitive skin
DS has a bumpy, itchy rash all over his arms and legs. It may or may not be related to the sunscreen we've been using. I've been using California Baby sunscreen on DS since last year. We haven't had any issues before this.
If the rash is related to the sunscreen, I need to look into other brands. Please recommend sunscreen for those with sensitive skin. I prefer ones that do not have potentially harmful chemicals and are considered safe for children. TIA.

Re: Need sunscreen recommendations for those with sensitive skin
Funny, I was going to recommend California Baby before I saw your full post....that's what we use on DD, though she doesn't have particularly sensitive skin. Though CB is so thick that I could see it could possibly irritate super-sensitive skin.
I know a lot of people rave about the Neutrogena Baby sunblock (new last year I think)...it's in a pink container. Not "all natural" but definitely less chemicals than others....same with Aveeno, a lot of people like that line.

Re: Need sunscreen recommendations for those with sensitive skin
My pediatric dermatologist (DS has a hemangioma so we've been going to a dermatologist for him) recommends the Neutrogena baby one. DS is VERY fair and sensitive, and has no issues with it.

I've been using California Baby shampoo and body wash since DS was a newborn. I also used their sunscreen without incident last summer. He only has a rash in exposed areas so I'm afraid that it could be due to the sunscreen. The pediatrician said it was unlikely that DS would suddenly develop an allergy to the sunscreen, but she said I could change brands if I wanted. DS has had the rash since Saturday and it's still itchy. I just want to give him some relief and make sure it isn't due to the sunscreen. Thanks for the recommendations!

we use Neutrogena pure and clear. Is it possible that he has heat rash?

He had broken out in a rash a few times recently, which looked more like heat rash (tiny red dots kind of spaced out on his arms and legs). This one was bumpy, very itchy and only in exposed areas (legs, arms and face). His arms are totally covered in the rash. I thought it could be a sun rash/poisoning, but the pediatrician didn't think so. She said the rash would've been more dark red and smooth. His rash is more white now and very bumpy. The pediatrician couldn't diagnose what caused this, but she said it looked like a contact rash.
