Need to sell a truck - do you think we can do it?
We bought a small pick-up truck last winter and now we've come to our senses and want to buy a family friendlier SUV/wagon.
The truck is an '07 Nissan Frontier and has 25k miles on it. It has room for five comfortably and has a five-foot bed, and we would like to sell it for about what we owe on it.
Do you think in today's market we can sell it privately or should we try to trade it in instead?
Any advice would be great. TIA!

You will always do better selling a car on your own then trading it in to the dealer.

Yeah, that's what we usually do when we change our cars, but I'm afraid that no one will want to buy a truck given the current price of gas.
I fear our only hope will be to find someone who has a V8 and wants to "downsize" to a V6.

Good luck trying to trade it in as well. I hear most dealerships are not accepting trucks because they can't sell them either.

That's a possibility. I would still try to sell it privately first and then worst case I'm sure there will be some dealer who will make the trade but they just won't give you a great deal most likely. Lots of luck!!
