Need To Ven-UPDATE
Hi guys, longtime to chat.  I'm super busy! Well, I work in a small office. My boss always, always introduces me as "This is Sonia, she's from El Salvador and she lived in NY and now lives here." Hello, I've been in the U.S. since I was 5 and I'm now 28! Why does he do that sh!t! It pi$$es me off so much! He doesn't introduce the other people as this is so and so and her family tree is from England!!!!!!!!!! I want to tell him to stop doing it but in a nice way....I'm such a punk!  I'm so mad
ETS: Ok so I sent the e-mail and my boss has now set some time on our calander so we could meet to discuss this further. I don't want to discuss further. He's blocked off half an hour!  I just wanted to let him know to stop and that's it! Wish me luck guys! Thanks for all the feedback!

I don't take it that way, to be honest. I mean hello it's obvious I'm a Latina but does everyone need to know that I'm "originally" from Central America!!!!!!!!!!! He makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!!!

Still, there's no official business reason that he needs to address this point with everyone he introduces you to. Unless it brings about more cash in your direction   or it is to indicate some sort of specialty you possess (language, culture, etc.). If he's not doing it to everyone, then he shouldn't be doing it to you.

he prob doesn't really he does it bc he prob thinks its cool that you were from there or its a space filler ... either way lets give him the benefit of the doubt and say he does it bc he is clueless... my suggestion next time it happens laugh when he says it and say " you always say that I came here when I was 5 you silly goose" maybe then he will repeat the statement to himself in his head and realize how silly he sounds

Grrrr... that would make me SO angry!!!! It's almost like he's trying to excuse your Latina-ness, if that makes any sense. It's like "This is Sonia, she's from El Salvador, just in case you were wondering what kind of Latina she is, but don't worry, she came to this country a long time ago so she's not fresh off the boat or anything." 
I honestly would be highly offended by this and I would point it out to him. I don't think I'd even be concerned about being nice about it. Maybe I'm way over sensitive to this but this hit such a nerve for me right now!!
Is there anyone else in the office that's maybe Italian, German, Polish - something - does he do the same thing?
Btw - HI GIRLIE!! How are you!! We know you are busy but we miss you around here!!

Maybe you could say "The next time you do that, I am going to introduce you the same way" and say it in a playful way.
Otherwise, I would just say nicely that you know he means no harm, but you don't want to be known as Sonia from Central America.

I would just ask if you could meet with him and have a private conversation expressing how you feel uncomfortable when he does that. I agree, it's very possible that he doesn't even realize how it makes you feel and if the matter is addressed and he's a reasonable person then I'm sure he'll stop. Good luck!!!

I think you need to have a chat with him that you dont like the way he introduces you. Just let him know there is no reason he needs to give your ethnic background when he introduces you.

If you didn't send it yet, I would recommend saying it to him in person, that way he can hear your tone of voice so that he doesn't take it the wrong way.
