need to vent, dh is teh BIGGEST procrastinator....

I have been asking him for Weeks to paint the babys room. He keeps saying it doesnt have to be done when she gets here b/c she'll be in outr room. OK but it doesnt have to be done but it would be nice IF it was. Do you want to have to paint after I have the baby. I'll have to Leave the house with the baby if that were the case. SO he says if we have a rainy weekend ill do it. So today is not a beach day ( we have a cabana that he loves to go to every weekend, which is why its limited as to when he is willing to do it at all) SO anyway he finally gets himself ready by 1 today then we grabbed lunch at the diner by the time we get home from home depot with the suppplies ( BTW I have had the paint and primer since memorial day) anyway he comes home and says let me sit for 5 minutes and now he is watchign an end of a movie and yells t me when I stormed out of the room saying this is getting ridiculous. I said that in response to the fact that he said he'll start when the movie is over at 330. Why would start priming a room t 330?? He is going to be doing it in to the night. He is not cogent o end up painting I just know it. What am I gonna do wait for their NEXT rainy day?? OMG you dont know how frustrating this . He can be soooooo lazy but if this was golf, or softball he would be jumping out of bed to leave the house with this we leave 1 . Im hysterical right now!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh Ok vent over!

I'm so sorry, I know that must be really frustrating. I suggest you start doing ti yourself, I'm sure he'll feel guilty and wind up doing it. That's what I would do.

You poor thing my DH is the exact same way! We've had our new range hood in the powder room for over a month and he is finally installing it today. Don't you just want to beat them till they get it! Do what I do. I tell my DH that I don't want to hear a word about anything when I pay someone to come in and do it. It sort of helps with mine.

Re: need to vent, dh is teh BIGGEST procrastinator....

Oh how I know how you feel! I have been having the hardest time getting my DH to do anything!!! Chat Icon I start out asking nice and then I end up bit@hing at him and then he gets mad at me and say all I do is bit@h at him. I understand that my DH works 2 jobs, but so do I and I take care of our 2.5 yr old and I'm 8 months PG! How in h@ll am I suppose to do everything? My lawn is almost 2 ft long and we have 1/2 an acre, I need him to mow it since I can't, I need him to move all of his old computer junk he's been collecting out to the shed, obviously I can't move monitors and towers, because I have all of Caiden's stuff from when he was a baby all over the house and all over his room and closet, I need to get all of it out, but I need to paint and clean the baby's room and I can't do that until he does what I need him to do. I can't win either!!! I try to be nice about it, but it's been months! I even had to finish painting the hallway because he never finished it. I couldn't take it anymore! Just an FYI, if you really would like to paint the room yourself just to get it done, Sherwin Williams has a paint line called Harmony that is made for painting nurseries and for painting rooms that will have people in it. I used that for the hallway because I was paranoid and I will tell you there is hardly any odor at all. It is a very good paint. The only problem is that it is a little expensive. But, for me to make sure it was safe for me and my son to be around I bought it. I know they've been having sales recently as well.

Oh... I also agree... that if it was anything for his XBox or he wanted to go to his buddy's house, etc., he'd be there in a second, wouldn't think twice. I don't understand why they have to act like this when we obviously can't do some things for ourselves right now! Well, actually, it's also when I'm not PG! Chat Icon Chat Icon
Good luck to you!

Re: need to vent, dh is teh BIGGEST procrastinator....

I think all our husbands have a secret club.. My DH is the same. I felt like I was reading about my dh when I read all your posts!

What makes it so frustrating is that we really shouldn't/can't do this stuff!

We have our computer in what will be the baby's room, so I'm trying to focus more on maybe we get that out first (move the cable modem wire, etc.). Which is still 'undergoing' as well. AGH!

But I have a little patience b/c I need the computer on weekends to work on school projects (as well as check in on LIW occasionally haha). So I'll be a bigger pain once school is over for me in 3 weeks!!!

But our lawn is so overgrown, i'm afraid we've become 'those people' on the block. Chat Icon

Noel...you already know where I stand with this with Anthony. He isnt really a procrastinator per say but look how long it takes for him to finish things! It drives me insane!!!!!!! I think its just in their blood. Hopefully it went better after this post..I havent been on all day because the painters were here trying to get this stuff done..5 weeks before my due date. You are NOT ALONE! Chat Icon
