Need wall and furniture paint color ideas please
We are going to paint the dining room. Now we're selling the house so we don't want to go crazy on color but the living room is painted in a light sage color, and the kitchen is tan/beige and the dining room is in between the two. I was thinking a reddish/brick or burgundy color but I don't want to have the color overpower the room or the other rooms. The DR is not huge either (I'd probably have to put a table for 6 in diagonally, but it's not tiny either).
Do you think red is fine - will a buyer like that or is it too much? If too much what would you suggest? And I have a buffet and hutch that I got from Target (ie: decent quality but it's not superior quality, I use it in the kitchen as a pantry) that I want to paint and use at a china closet/hutch for the DR when we are showing it. What color do you suggest painting it - I don't think the stark white color would look great as is in the DR.
TIA

I would stick to neutral colors. More than likely the new owners will have there own colors in mind & will paint over it anyway.

yea, if you are selling I would do a light tan or ivory. If you do a red, which I love, other folks may not.
I also wouldn't paint the furniture. That won't make or break the house. If anything, I wouldn't even put that piece in the room. Think less is more like design to sell

If you're selling, stick to neutrals. I would keep it as is and if you need to freshen up I would just use the same color that is already on the walls.
Good luck with the sale!
ETA: as for the hutch, I would paint it the same color as the rest of the furniture in the room - unify the pieces.

I just painted a room red and I love it, but def stock to neutrals if you are selling. The sellers of our apartment painted the entire apartment BM Navajo white prior to selling and it was great. We did not need to prime a thing!

I love red and I have plans to paint my DR red, but not everyone loves it. I would stick to neutrals.

I think you should do red, but only on the bottom half of the walls- then doa thin piece of chair rail, with a neutral beige on top. That will make the dining room look a little more elegant.

I would do a taupe or tan color. A buyer might not love the red.
