Need Yeast Recipes
While at one of those wholesale places I bought a pound of yeast. It only cost $10.00 and those supermarkets charge like $2/packet so I thought OOooo what a great deal. Now I have a lot of yeast and I hear I need to use it up in a few months. A pound of yeast is apparently a lot! So I am looking for maybe like a white bread recipe that's not for a bread machine or other yeast user upper recipes.

Re: Need Yeast Recipes
put the yeast in the freezer it will last for years!
Jennifer
but always proof it before you use it just to be sure.
To proof it...
put 1 tbs sugar, 1 tbs yeast and 3/4 cup of warm (not hot) water in a cup. Let the mixture sit. if it foams the yeast is still good.
YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PROOF YOUR YEAST! Even if you just bought it.
