Need your Business/Legal Expertise!

My mother and I are thinking of starting a small business for some extra money!

We'd like to open up a Silk Wedding Flowers Business.

Right now we are trying to come up with names etc.

I know that I probably defiantely want a website, and business cards, which I can take care of myself, because DH and I are both graphic designers.

But . . . . how do I go about doing this legally? Getting an original name. Reporting our income to the government? And being Tax Exempt for our Vendors?

I am clueless! My mother owned a florist, that she sold about 5 years ago. She said something about a DBA?

HELP ME!

First you need to decide the kind of business you want- an LLC, a partnership, a corporation, etc... Then you register when the Department of Corporations for that particular type of business.
