Need your experience/advice please !!
Long story short - We have had Lola since May 17th. She was 3 months old when we took her home. She went to the vet that Friday and was put on antibiotics for kennel cough. 2 weeks later, she was not any better, we took her back to the vet, she had her final round of shots, and he told us to wait out her cough b/c it can take a few weeks -........ My Mom was watching her while we were away 2 weeks ago and took her to the vet (a different vet) again. He gave her a 2nd round of antibiotics and said if she didn't get better to come back for an Xray .......So I have an appointment this weekend, but has anyone else had an experience like this ?? I can understand the cough taking a while to go away .....but 2 months ??? Both vets said she is in good health and she's eating/playing etc ....it's just this hacking awful cough. it's worse at night and keeps her (and us) awake .....I feel so bad for her .... Any suggestions ? Ideas ? Even something I can do in the meantime to help make her more comfortable ? I feel so helpless and horrible that I can't do anything for her. - I give her the cough medicine, but it's only 2x a day and seems to wear off in just a few hours .......

It can take a very long time to get rid of kennel cough. All dogs are different and may take longer then others. Go for the xray and just keep an eye on her. From what I understand and read, a lot of time antibiotics don't really help as much as you think they should. It's viral and takes a long time to go away.
I hope she feels better soon!
