Need your opinion regarding painting...
We have been soooo busy trying to get ready for the baby coming REALLY SOON!!!
Well, this weekend we did as much as we could. My DH worked all weekend so I only had my mom's help. Right now in the baby's room only the trim is painted We still have to do the walls. I have no problems doing them myself, but I would need to stand on a 2 step step ladder. Everyone keeps yelling at me not to, but I've been waiting for people to help, and now there's only 2 weeks left it needs to get done. I've been working hard on trying to get everything done but I can only do so much. I still have a lot to get done.
So, my question is would you climb on a step ladder to finish painting???

Tough call. I would NOT, but that's because I am so clumsy even before I was pregnant.
If you really have to do it, then you have to do it. Just be careful and if you feel the fumes getting to you or anything like that, get down and take a break.
Good Luck

Re: Need your opinion regarding painting...
i would not do it - if u REALLY have to do it yourself cant you buy one of those extended paint brush things?? they allow u to go all the way up - u may need touch ups on the top but then maybe your DH can just do that.

Re: Need your opinion regarding painting...
i would (and prob just to "show them" I can still do it!" b/c I am stubborn!)- as long as you feel comfortable with it....and you aren't afraid - just be careful! keep it well ventilated, drink water, have snacks and take breaks - its better than stressing b/c its not done (thats not good for the baby either!)
(But then again we are similar in this respect too....you prob figured I would support you! )

Re: Need your opinion regarding painting...
I would go ahead and paint myself, but that's just me. Two steps wouldn't bother me at all, it's not like you're climbing a ladder. But you really should do whatever you are/aren't comfortable with.

Re: Need your opinion regarding painting...
Thanks ladies!
Honestly I feel fine on the ladder. It's everyone else that's starting to make me nervous and I'm afraid they're going to jinx me or something.
I'm not concerned about the paint fumes. I buy this grea paint that hardly has any fumes.

I would do what you can without standing on the step ladder and let DH finish that part when he gets home from work. It's not worth the risk of falling IMO. You balance can be off that far along in pregnancy.

Re: Need your opinion regarding painting...
If you feel up to it, go for it. I helped with painting while I was pregnant. Just take it slowly, keep the windows open and the room well ventilated, and take as many breaks as neccessary. Good luck!
