Needing some CIO support right now..

I've been home alone with DS all weekend b/c DH had to go away for the weekend. DS has not taken a nap all day and I've tried everything that usually works. We've let him CIO before but I usually have DH here with me and DS usually goes to sleep within 5-7 minutes. I've already been unsuccessful in CIO earlier today after 15 minutes went by. I tried to swing, I tried to rock him, I've tried having him lay on the couch. Nothing has worked! He is so tired and he just won't go to sleep!!! He's in his crib again and I'm trying to let him CIO out again....it's only ben 3 minutes but he is crying and I feel terrible. I hate having to do this when DH isn't here! Need some support..TIA

It's hard... I know it is.... do you have a bedtime routine which involves a bath? if not, then how about giving him a warm bath with sleepy time bath stuff.... i put that stuff into Kristina's bath, and her eyes rolllllllllllllllll...

if he's overtired tho, the only thing that will work is just leaving him be and letting him CIO.... sometimes they just need it.... it sux I know.. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ok, he seems like he fell asleep. I hate having to make him CIO but sometimes its the only thing that works. At night he gives us NO problems. Right to bed, awake...and he will go to sleep on his own. But for naps, he can be impossible. He wants to stay up and play allllll day....and then by 4 or 5 o'clock he is a disaster!!! Thanks for the support girls. This mommy thing can be hard something Chat Icon

I hate the CIO too but it seems to be a necessary evil at times...especially nap times. Hang in there, my DS also would rather play then sleep so I feel your pain.Chat Icon
