i asked dh he said go to sears and get craftsman
but from lowes he said kobalt is new and coming on strong so that would probably be good for a ratchet

My husband said the same thing...he said don't go with kobalt! Craftsman will be a little more expensive but will be worth it!

My dad said Craftsman used to be a lot better and now likes Husky, the Home Depot brand

Craftsman. If it breaks 20 years from now they will replace it.

agree with the above poster. my dad always goes to sears and buys craftsmen. they last forever, and if something breaks, you bring it to sears and they replace it.

Re: Needs help with tool brands for fathers day gift
I almost buy exclusively Craftsman (I even have a Craftsman saw blade clock in my shop... ).
I've brought horribly destroyed pieces back to the store, and they never ask what happened (thankfully.... I think they know how a lot of the things break.... and it's not from proper usage.... )
