NEFCU question
Does anyone do direct deposit into their savings account and automatic transfer into a NEFCU account each paycheck? What's the best deal? I am trying to make a segregated savings account with a higher interest rate or a Christmas club, where I put money in each check and can only touch it once a year.... any thoughts? Do we get a good deal with the credit union or am I better off just going through a bank?

Re: NEFCU question
I have a NEFCU share account and each pay period money is deposited automaticcally. This is my summer money since I opted for the 10 month pay period withour a lump sum at the end. I know someone who does this and also allocated money for a Christmas fund each paycheck. Call them up and ask they are very helpful. I don't think their rates are so much better than another bank, but it is far enough from my home, that I am not tempted to take out money.

Re: NEFCU question
NEFCU is my normal bank; a few years ago I set up a Holiday Club and a Vacation Club account. I never bothered to change them, so I still have the money transferred each week and then distributed in June and October. I don't think the interest is better than you would get elsewhere, but it's just convenient for me.
