Negotiating New Home Prices (OOS)
Can you negotiate the price of a new/custom home in communities out of state?
we are going down to NC next weekend and have 5 communities we are interested in.

Re: Negotiating New Home Prices (OOS)
considering 2006 was a record setting year for the number of new construction home buyers canceling contracts & builders buying stuck with unsold homes I'd say yes.

Doesn't hurt to try, but I know up here when we attempted new construction in Rocky Pt and Wading River, they'd only drop $10K or so from the asking price.

Re: Negotiating New Home Prices (OOS)
I would look at what the other new homes sold for compared to asking price.
get comps just like you would for an existing home sale.

Absolutely, I live in GA and that is really the majority of the homes for sale are new construction. Usually the builder will pay closing costs or whatever else to get rid of the home. We neg. on our new home- everyone does.
Good luck, hope you found what you are looking for.

Re: Negotiating New Home Prices (OOS)
For us it was always price of house. Not perks or anything else.
