Nervous mommy--First night in her crib in her room

So for one reason or another, we never moved Sabrina into her crib. First she was waking every three hours, so it was easier. Then I got into side lying nursing in bed and having her in her cosleeoer made it easier. Finally, the crib tent we bought to keep the cats out of her crib, didn't fit right and didn't allow for a mobile, a monitor or other good stuff.

So finally my dad installed a retractable screen door on Sabrina's room (it looks nice, because it retracts like a window shade when it is open.

And she is sleeping in her big girl crib right now. But like most mommies, I am scared and feeling sad and lonely.

I know she needs to be in her crib. Her cosleeper is the mini so she is almost head to toe in there. We need our privacy in the bedroom too. I guess I just wish it was easier.

Tell me it will be okay. Tell me I won't miss her so much.

I don't think I will be able to sleep tonightChat Icon

Re: Nervous mommy--after 5 1/2 months, finally in her crib in her room

Sorry, I just need to babble. I know Sabrina will probably sleep better in her crib, but I don't feel ready for her to sleep in her own room.

I wish I had done this sooner. It would have been easier.

I think we're going to be putting Lily into her crib for the first time tonight also....and I've been dreading it all day. She's just getting too big for her basinnet and it's time to give her more room...but that doesn't make it any easier. I love waking up and being able to see her... Chat Icon

DD LOVES her crib. She really won't even nap with me anymore. She loves her own space. It's hard, but in the end it will be better for all of youChat Icon

DD was with us for 6 months but in the end the change was better for all of us. We all slept better. It's hard the first few days but it does get easier.
Do you have the video monitor? That is what saved me.

Yes, we have video, we have motion/movement. We are right across the hall.

I am just sad about now waking up and seeing her smiling face next to me. Chat Icon

Will she smile at me when I go get her in the morning or will she hate me?

She's not going to hate you. She'll definitely be happy to see you. It sounds like it went well since she's sleeping and you didn't mention anything about crying. Try not to stress. You'll like having your room back.
I hated moving DD. I wanted her with me forever but honestly she is such a light sleeper it wasn't working for any of us so I knew we had to at least try and in the end it was the best decision for everyone. DD became such a better sleeper.

Re: Nervous mommy--First night in her crib in her room

So she slept for two hours in the crib and woke up. I waited a minute before going in, hoping she would go back to sleep, but she kept crying. She was giving me hunger signs, so I nursed her and she fell asleep and I put her back in.

I am not sure if we will make it through the night in her crib but DH keeps telling me it is okay to transition her into it. If she wakes up and cries after we have gone to be, he thinks we should let her sleep in her cosleeper. We are not packing the cosleeper away until next weekend at the earliest. Once we think she is comfortable in her crib

That's exactly what we did. She has to get used to it- do you think she would have woke up if she were in the CS?
