New BFP has questions
My first question is...how long was your first OB appointment?
I had a hard time getting one that went along with my schedule. I'm literally going during lunch - my appt is at 11:30 but I HAVE to be back at least before 1pm.
Is that enough time? Are the first appointments really long? The great thing is that they sent me the paperwork to fill out in advance so I can just come in right away and go (but you know doctor's offices! ). I'm concerned I might have to reschedule. I'm going to call them anyway on Monday but I thought I'd ask here first to see your experiences.
Next question - in my cycle leading up to BFP I've had awful acne. Like I've never seen before. Anyone else experience this? I can't get rid of it to save my life!
TIA!

Re: New BFP has questions
Congrats and welcome! I dont know how your OB works or at what point he/she sees you for the first time. Mine saw me first at 8 weeks pregnant and I had a sonogram in the office before I met with the OB. Then once we met with him, he asked us a bunch of questions and then I had an exam and I was on my way. All in all I think my appointment was somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half. I should mention though that the office was running a little behind that day -something to consider if you're doing this during lunch...I'd call the office and get their take, also maybe call them that day to see if they're running behind. Congrats again!

Re: New BFP has questions
Congratulations! It's hard to know how long your appointment will be b/c every practice is different. My first appointment was basically an annual exam and I was sent for bloodwork. I also asked a bunch of questions. I didn't have a sono until my next appointment.

Congrats!
I would call the OB's office and tell them your situation. Ask them how long the appointments are and ask if the dr. usually runs on time. Some practices will have you waiting for an hour (or more!) before they even see you. Some are pretty much on time.
Good luck!

Re: New BFP has questions
First off...CONGRATS!!!
My first OB appt probably only lasted about 45 minutes or so. We went over a few things, they asked a bunch of questions, took a urine sample and did an exam. I didn't have a sono until my second visit. Thing is though, I waited over an hour in the waiting room to be seen. That's definitely something to consider since you'll be going over your lunch break.

Re: New BFP has questions
thanks so much ladies! I figured I'd have to call them anyway...I was just curious what your experiences were.
I know what the OBGYN office is like- I've sat on the darn table for a half hour ++ waiting for a doc to open the door!
