new blog entry and a minor plan change for my upcoming speaking engagement
Well, I mentioned back in December that I will be speaking at the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR) annual conference in Las Vegas. The conference agenda has changed somewhat and I will now be speaking alongside a well known medical doctor about proving disability in cases in involving orthopedic impairments. The Vice President of NADR has specifically asked us to cover the following:
- back impairments, including lumbar degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, etc.
--knee injuries, including issues involved with knee replacements
--fractures, especially those that fail to heal properly
--soft tissue injury
--amputations
--proper development of a file, obtaining medical records, when to ask for subpoenas, etc.
--The Social Security "listing criteria" for all listings involving the musculoskeletal system
I am really looking forward to this event. Although it's difficult to see clients in pain, I delve right into the medical aspects of my cases and I find it fascinating that the practice of law has lead me to learn more about medicine. I'm looking forward to meeting Dr. Upinder Singh, MD. Most of all, I am looking forward to seeing my fellow NADR members. I have spoken at two of their conferences in the past. I took a "break" from their conferences when my son was a baby but I've been in constant contact with several fellow members. The camaraderie within the membership is outstanding and their conferences are among the best I've attended.
And, to top it off, some of my fellow NADR members have promised to join me in attending the Vegas Mob Exhibit at the Tropicana Hotel. We'll do that after hours, though.

Thanks to the LIF community for so much support. I'm celebrating 10 years in business this year, 18 years as an attorney. Eighteen is a lucky number in my religion so the year should bring more good things!!!!
