New B'way production of "Grease" to be cast by America
NBC today announced a new reality series to air mid-season which will allow viewers to choose the leads in the Broadway production of "Grease." The show will take its title from the musical itself -- "You're the One That We Want."
The new production of "Grease" will open on Broadway in June 2007 and will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall. Tickets for "Grease" will go on sale on December 1, 2006.
Jim Jacobs, the co-creator of "Grease," along with Kathleen Marshall and renowned theater producer David Ian, will judge.

They should just save everyone the pain of watching and the trouble of voting and make Taylor Hicks play Danny and Kelly Pickler play Sandy. Because those are probably the types that the viewers who vote will pick.

I saw Grease on Broadway many, many years ago. John Secada played Danny. After the show, I was goofing off by the stage door entrance (dancing around, being stupid...) and literally smacked right into him

Why, oh why are they bringing "Grease" back to B'Way?!!! v The last time the rotatong cast of stars was almost unbearable!!!

I saw Grease on Broadway back in 96..Actually it was the day of the blizzard in January. The show went on and it was great.
Im not too crazy about America voting on the cast. That could be wierd.
