new facebook privacy settings?!
These new facebook privacy setting confuse me.... they make your info available to anyone!! I tried blocking all my info so only my friends can see it and not just random people who would click on my profile from a search.... but, how do you block people from seeing what pages you're a fan of?

It is an option actually.
Settings > Privacy Settings > Search
Facebook Search Results: Set to "Only Friends"
Public Search Results: Uncheck "Allow"
Now when I Google myself (when not logged into FB) I can click the link, but it tells me the page can not be found.
ETA: The Facebook Search Results option being set to "Only Friends" is what seems to have done the trick, although now I don't know if people can find me on FB. The new settings are confusing and annoying!

I tried what theabove poster said and had posted about this the other day- I can't make it work for me. Supoposedly my page is blocked so only friends can see me. How do u block the public from seeing my friend list?
It is so annoying.

it's such an invasion!!! We shouldn't have to feel like our info is out there on display... I'm contemplating deleting my account entirely! so sick of it!

this is what they say - when you go to privacy settings:
Worried about search engines? Your information is safe.
There have been misleading rumors recently about Facebook indexing all your information on Google. This is not true. Facebook created public search listings in 2007 to enable people to search for your name and see a link to your Facebook profile. They will still only see a basic set of information.

Yeah, that's what they say, but things have changed. When you Googled me previously and clicked on my profile, all it would give you is my profile pic, name, and a link to send me a message. Now you can see my photo albums, friends, and fan pages. So what I mentioned above doesn't work apaprently. Grrr. This is so annoying!

under privacy setting go to profile information and change that to only friends too.
I think that blocks people from seeing my stuff  otherwise I have a lot of smack talk to delete.

Also, double check your photo album settings. I went on last night after reading this thread to check my privacy. My profile picture album was open to friends of friends and I've never allowed anyone other than friends to see any of my pictures.

You basically have to go in and set everything to "Friends Only" including your photo albums.
