New here

Short back story... I got my BFP on Tuesday. hcg on Friday was low; 25. Today's was 7. My dr said it is a miscarriage. I guess I'm thankful that it was early, however I am still devastated. I'm sure you all know how it feels.

I knew it wasn't going to be good because I woke up this morning spotting. Now, I'm having a little bit of red blood- sorry.

I'm happy that there is somewhere to come to get the feelings out. I have so much guilt because I feel like part of it was my fault. I had wine, got my nails done (acrylic), dyed my hair, was stung by 7 bees, killed said bees with hornet & wasp killer, drank excessive amounts of caffeine.

What should I expect? Lots of pain? Heavy flow? Thank you ladies. It's bittersweet being here. I know I'll get an enormous amount of support but I wish we weren't here to begin with Chat Icon

Re: New here

So sorry for your loss. It is so hard. I miscarried at almost 10 weeks when the baby stopped growing and had no heartbeat. It was and still is devastating.
I was given misoprostel to miscarry so I wouldn't have to hav a d & c.
It was very heavy bleeding and I contracted for a few hours which took my breath away. It was physically painful and difficult. Honestly, my cousin was miscarrying at the same time and said, "just stay on the toilet as long as you can" and I did. I had to work through the contractions but its our bodies way of getting it out. You will be ok. God has a plan.

Re: New here

I just got back from my doctors where I had to pick up my script for a follow up beta. I told them that I think my body is starting to fix itself already and they said if I don't get my full on AF in a week then they'll prescribe me meds.

Is a chemical a type of miscarriage? Obviously I'm new to this. The dr office continues to call it a miscarriage which is so hard to hear.

Thank you again for sharing your stories Chat Icon I appreciate it

Re: New here

a chemical is a very early mc. I had a mc in august and my period was about the same but alot of clots. I know what you mean about feeling so sad but the good news is that it happened early and my doctor said that the earlier you mc the sooner you can get back to ttc... hopefully you can do it naturally because i've heard that a d&c messes up your cycle for a few months (like 2)
sorry for your loss

Re: New here

Spoke to my dr... No meds, no D&C. My levels were low to begin with so I guess that's a good thing. They said that they suggest waiting a few cycles to try again, but that many patients DON'T and they understand that and they are fine. I'll see how things work themselves out. It's all in God's hands, right?

Back to the drawing board. Thank you all Chat Icon

Re: New here

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss...Any emotion you are feeling right now is completely normal. Unfortunately, there is no real "normal" when it comes to m/c but hopefully soon you will be able to move forward and TTC again.

It seems that it happened early and you m/c naturally so I can't imagine that you'd have to wait too long to try again (although it's scary I know)

This is a great board for support! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: New here

HI
I am so sorry for your loss. I had a d&C yesterday. I opted for one because I heard that oral meds were painful and could take forever and sometimes you need the procedure done anyway.
I did experience some bleeding, but not too heavy. What does get you are the cramps, but I was okay with taking motrin. The emotional pain certainly outweighs the physical pain. You probably need a day after the procedure to rest although my doctor told me I could go back to work the next day. Just relax and put your feet up and if it hurts too bad make sure you speak to the doctor and get some meds. She gave me motrin 600 and some stronger meds, but I stuck with Motrin.
Good luck to you and I'm sorry again for your loss.
