new here
Hello all, I am new here, looking for some opions. We've been trying for a year. My ob ordered some blood work done, and sending my husband to be tested. She also said dpending on the results, we should make an appointment with a RE. She recommended Dr. Brenner with LI IVF. Soemone told me that their lab is in the Port Jeff office. what does that mean? The other thing is, my husband works at North Shore, so we've been thinking of just making an appointment there, with Dr. Cohen. ANy feedback on the two doctors? Last question, should I just calll and make an appointment already, or wait till I finish a work up with ob? she also mentioned doing an HSG.

Re: new here
First of All, Welcome to the Boards. I hope your stay is short!
I dont have any info on the doctors mentioned but I do think you should schedule an appt. with your RE now. I highly recommend a HSG (make sure it is done by your RE). HSG will rull out blocked tubes.
Good Luck!

Re: new here
Just lurking here - no experience with REs. Don't take the number of views too seriously. You clicking back to see if someone responded is also counted as a view.
Good luck.

Re: new here
Sorry, I'm a Jersey girl, so I don't know a whole lot about NY RE's.
If I may make a suggestion, you might want to try breaking your text up a little bit.
I had to read your message a couple times to get exactly what you were asking for.
People are more likely to respond if it's easy to read and interpret.
Good luck with your search!

Re: new here
I know nothing about the first doctor.
I go to NSUH. I started out with Dr. Rosenfeld and had two IUI's when I moved on to IVF I was transferred to Dr. Chu who is my main doctor.
While I was stimming for my IVF procedure and going in everyday for about 2 weeks I wound up seeing every doctor. Dr. Scholl did most of my monitoring, he is the main monitor for the IVF girls... I guess more of a specialty examining our sonos and bloodwork etc. I also saw Dr. Herschlag, he explained the most to me about my sono and what a sweet man.
Dr. Cohen examined me once but he was the one who did my egg retreival, embryo transfer and called my on Tuesday to tell me I am preggos. He seemed a bit stiff to me at first but I told him some jokes and he warmed up. He did get me preggos so I don't care about his personality...LOL.
I like all of the doctors there. Well, Dr. Scholl is a bit cold IMO but he knows his stuff.
Does your insurance cover both places equally? Many don't.

Re: new here
i've said it before and i'll say it again...i absolutely love dr. brenner and LI IVF!!! he just recently did our ivf and was so kind and made me feel like he really wanted things to work and not just because he wanted good statistics, but because he was invested in us.
the office i went to was in lake success, but the retrieval and transfer are out at port jeff. we live in queens, so i was concerned about that, but it really was not a big deal at all.
i wouldn't waste time about calling the RE, because everything is a process anyway, so might as well get started.
good luck and mucho
